Rock n Roll: MoneyFoodTravel reviews The Rolling Joint at CP, New Delhi

Tucked away in a street corner, in Delhi’s Connaught Place stands The Rolling Joint. This small yet cosy place is easy to miss even though it is very close to the Odeon theatre.

On a beautiful sunny winter afternoon, there’s a crowd of people of who are patiently waiting for their hot steamy rolls, something that The Rolling Joint specialises in.

Even if you are not a fan of rolls like me, you’ll still love them.

How can you not like Three Cheese and Jalapeno Cigar Rolls ?  roll-1

Note: You can either order 6pcs for these cigar rolls for 135, or order 12 pcs for 205

The packaging (cute yellow boxes) and the dip/chutney that comes with these mildly spicy cheesy rolls, is also as welcoming as the rolls itself.

Another vegetarian roll (since I am a vegetarian) that caught my eye on the menu was the Harissa Cottage Cheese Roll. It’s the description that tempted me to order it despite being stuffed – the description said Cottage Cheese Chunks, Bell Peppers, Jalapenos, Onions, Harissa Chilli Sauce, Rolled in Pita!

But be warned – this delicious roll is quite spicy and not for the faint hearted.

In the ‘Crazy Paratha Roll’ section, there’s the Kung-Fu Egg Roll (Egg and noodles) which was equally delicious. This tasty roll is very filling and comes only for ₹ 105.rolls-2

What’s great is that each roll comes with a different dip/chutney. There are about six different dips that the joint offers with different rolls.

For someone who’s determined not to try the rolls, has the option to indulge in the kebabs and the keema section of the menu.

All in all, The Rolling Joint offers these traditional rolls with a twist. It’s a great option in Connaught Place if you are tired of having your regular burgers, subs and sandwiches.

Before I leave the place, I’m happy and already excited about trying a few more items during my next visit. But what was more heartening was that the young owner of the joint enthusiastically telling me, “whatever you write, write honestly…doesn’t matter if it’s negative stuff!”
